PONDA: Disha Dudhal from A J De Almeida High School Ponda, who secured 96.17 per cent in the SSC examination, wants to pursue her higher education in IT and become a software engineer.
In all, 371 students appeared for the exam, out of which 369 passed (99.46 per cent). About 30 students secured above 90 per cent marks. In all, 150 students passed with distinction, followed by first class (130), second class (87) and pass class (2). Disha Dudhal secured 96.17 per cent marks, followed by Ira Sahakari (95.83%), Mansi Pasthe (95.50%), S C Jashmi (95%) and Riya Naik (94.50%). Speaking to Herald, Diksha said she want to become software engineer. Her father is a software engineer in a pharmaceutical company, while mother is a housewife. She gave credit to the teachers, parents and friends. Ira said she is interested in becoming a professor, while Mansi said she will become an engineer. Jashmi said she is interested in becoming a doctor and is also interested to work in the social field. Riya Naik is also interested in becoming an engineer. School Headmaster Shital Kesarkar, the school committee members and the parents have congratulated the students.
