PANJIM: Around 17 e-tablets supplied by Directorate of Education to a government school in Taleigao under the Goa government’s Cyberage Scheme, has allegedly been stolen by unidentified persons.
As per a complaint filed with the Panjim police station by the school headmistress, unknown person(s) entered the school building through the ventilator and stole boxes containing 17 tablets worth Rs 1.70 lakh, approximately. Police have registered an offence. Sources said suspects are being rounded up and suspicious spots being raided.
Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar distributed e-tablets to 10 High Schools in Saligao, Guirim, Pilerne, Sangolda and Verem-Reis Magos at a function organized at panchayat Hall, Saligao, Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Parulekar said that e-tablets are given to students at a tender age so as to enable them to develop their e-learning ability and face challenges with confidence in the fast developing IT sector.
