Former Rumdamol Sarpanch Ulhas Tuemkar and former Aquem-Baixo Panch Satyavijai Naik are locked in a battle for the BJP ticket. The duo, sources said, have staked their claim for the Davorlim seat. The third aspirant, Sheikh Jina, who has been the Muslim face of the BJP in Navelim, who had initially staked claim for the ticket is expected to back out, leaving both Ulhas and Satyavijai to vie for the party ticket.

MARGAO: Two local BJP stalwarts – who have been the face of the party in Navelim constituency over the years – are vying for the Davorlim Zilla Panchayat constituency, expected to be left for the BJP by Navelim MLA and Fisheries Minister Avertano Furtado.
