2 farmers hurt

Two farmers were injured in an attack by three wild bears at Chunchawad village in Khanapur taluka on Friday afternoon.
The injured have been identified as Vilas Amrut Patil (40) and Gokul Tukaram Patil (42) of Chunchwad. According to sources, the farmers had taken their oxen to a nearby canal after the work in the fields. The bears sprang out from a nearby jungle suddenly and attacked them. Taken by surprise, they shouted for help. Farmers working in the neighboring fields rushed with sticks and stones. The bears disappeared on seeing the people.
