2 groups clash in Ponda over property issue

Police register offence against 8 from both groups; Arrest four; Car damaged

Ponda: There was high drama at Bazaarmoll, Ponda on Sunday at around 12.30 pm after eight persons belonging to two groups clashed over property issue. All are residents of Cottwada, Ponda.

In the fight which ensured some received injuries while a car belonging to a member from one of the group was damaged.

The incident which took place in broad daylight sent shock waves among the locals in area and police rushed at site after receiving information regarding the same.

Police have registered an offence against eight, which includes five from one group and three from the other. The police also arrested four from both groups. 

The fight occurred allegedly over the ownership right of a property situated at Bazaarmoll, Ponda where fish was being sold.

Ponda Police Inspector Harish Marcaikar said complaints in this regard were filed by both the groups.

He said based on complaint by one Badrrudin Aga, police registered an offence under Section 143, 147, 504, 323, 506, 427 read with Section 149 against five person’s namely  Mulla Muzavar Karim, Camran Muzavar, Adnan Muzavar,  Rehman Muzaavar, Sayyan Tamin all residents of Cottwada. 

While, based on the counter complaint by  Mulla Muzavar Karim an offence was registered against three which include Altaf Sindupur (driver) from Zuarinagar, Vasco, Baddrudin Aga and his Son Zoharuddin Aga both residents of Cottwada, Ponda under Section 504, 323(34) 506(2).
