PONDA: Police arrested two persons for allegedly assaulting Ajay Gaude, the Nodal Officer for effective monitoring against illegal sand mining.
The names of the two accused are Heramb Sham Velingkar (30) and Anup Sham Velingkar (29), both resident of Veling, Mardol.

The incident took place at Veling junction, Mardol. Police arrested both the accused and registered an offence. According to Ponda police, the incident occurred at around 10 pm on Wednesday night, at Veling, Mardol. The incident took place when the accused tried to block the path of the complainant.
Police said, “Both the accused persons with a common intension restrained the complainant while proceeding to carry out his lawful duties. They also allegedly abused and assaulted the complainant. The police booked the accused under Sections 504, 323,332 and 341 to be read with 34 IPC.”
