VASCO: Property worth lakhs of Rupees was gutted in fire that broke out at two different places in Mormugao taluka on Thursday early morning.
According to the information, the first incident occurred at about 4 am at Birla, Zuarinagar, when the fire broke out at two adjoining shops, damaging goods.
The shop owners suspect the involvement of miscreants, as the electricity department officials clarified that the fire was not caused due to short circuit.
In the second incident reported at New Vaddem, Vasco, a Maruti Omni van that was parked besides the road caught fire under mysterious circumstances on Thursday early morning.
The incident came to light at about 3.30 am when a police patrol team noticed smoke emerging from the van. They first tried to douse the flame and finally summoned fire station staff who rushed to the site and doused the flames.
The car however got completely gutted in the fire.
