In a major fire, two readymade garment shops were gutted last night.
While the owners claimed that property worth Rs five lakh was destroyed in the fire, the fire services put the loss of property to Rs one lakh.
Shop No 3 and 4 in the Gandhi market complex were completely gutted after the fire broke out at around 11.55 pm last night.
Fire services stated that they managed to stop the fire from spreading to the remaining shops in the building and saved property worth Rs 10 lakh.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Further investigations are on.
