2 test positive for Dengue in Veling

PONDA: Two residents have been tested positive, while eight suspected cases of Dengue have been identified in Veling Priol Kunkoliem Panchayat.

PONDA: Two residents have been tested positive, while eight suspected cases of Dengue have been identified in Veling Priol Kunkoliem Panchayat.
One resident at Veling and another at Mardol region have been tested positive and according to health officials at Madkaim Primary Health Centre (PHC), precautionary measures have been taken to control the spread of disease.
According to Madkaim PHC sanitary inspector Ashok Fadte, necessary precautions were taken and the situation is under control.
“The first dengue case was detected a fortnight back and another a week ago. Both the patients were treated and are now in good condition. Eight more suspected cases have been found in the locality,” informed Fadte.
On Friday, officials from Madkaim PHC conducted awareness drive and undertook fogging in the main market of the panchayat at Mardol. Sarpanch Damodar Naik and Panch Adv Varadh Mardolkar were also present.
“We have appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness and are distributing pamphlets with information regarding precautionary measures to be adopted, especially during monsoon,” informed Sarpanch Naik.
