VASCO: Twenty plasma donors from Mangor Hill, Vasco were felicitated by the United Citizens of Mangor, at the community hall, Mangor, on Saturday.

The guests present at the felicitation function urged the COVID infection recovered persons to actively participate in donating their blood plasma.
After felicitating the plasma donors, chief guest Dr Rajendra Borkar, health officer of Chicalim Sub-District Hospital emphasised on the importance of plasma donation by the COVID recovered persons amid pandemic and appreciated them by mentioning as the “Heroes of crises”.
He advised how to prevent the coronavirus infection and stressed that those recovered can volunteer to donate plasma and technically has no reason to resist.
Fr Gabriel Coutinho, who was the guest of honour, mentioned that the blood is the one product which is not available in the market or stores like any other products. He too appealed to the patients, who have recovered, to donate blood plasma and help the humanity.
Special invitee Dr Vivek Pillai, ENT, SDH, Chicalim Sub-District Hospital, highlighted the technical issues and requested for more plasma donation camps.
Mormugao Municipal Council Councillor Saifullah Khan, convener of United Citizens of Mangor welcomed and appreciated the donors and also highlighted the difficulties in organising any social activities for the benefit of citizens as there are negative forces preventing them.
He thanked all the doctors, who worked day and night at Mangor Hill by risking their lives, and immediately rejoined after affecting them too.
He thanked Deputy Collector Sachin Desai for closely monitoring the situation during the 79 days complete lockdown period.
Dr Sameer Naik was the guest of honour. Karim Mulla compered while Imran Shaikh proposed the vote of thanks.
