MARGAO: Twenty-two-year-old Anil Shankar Pawar from Bijapur is feared dead as he went missing after a wave engulfed him and the jet ski scooter which he was handling on Friday morning at Varca beach.
Hailing from Bijapur, Anil was working for Cosmo Fernandes as a helper and had completed just a fortnight after quitting his job in Calangute. He was manning the jet ski kept as a standby for paragliders.
Locals claim that the sea was pretty rough today and undercurrents were also quite strong. When Anil was in hip deep water on the jet ski, a huge wave engulfed him due to which he turned turtle. A Naval helicopter seared the seas for for about an hour but could not spot him.
