PANJIM: In a tragic incident, 24-year-old Amey Mayanath died in a car accident reported along the Vasantrao Dempo Marg, Santa Cruz on Sunday evening.
Panjim Police informed that incident took place when the car driven by Varun Mandrekar lost control and rammed into a pillar at Vasantrao Dempo Marg at Santa Cruz.
Police said Amey Mayanath died, while Mandrekar and another occupant Deep Salelkar, both aged 24, sustained injuries and have been admitted to Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim. Police said, one of them is in a serious condition.
An accident case has been registered.
Police further said more details will be known once the injured youth are in a position to give their statements.
