3 saved from drowning at Colva

VASCO, AUG 20 Three persons, including a couple, were rescued from drowning in two separate incidents at Colva beach on August 15 and 19.

Three persons, including a couple, were rescued from drowning in two separate incidents at Colva beach on August 15 and 19.
According to Drishti Special Response Services Pvt Ltd, on August 15, Kapil Tiraswal and his wife Sunita from Rajasthan, who had ventured in the rough sea, were caught in the rip current and unable to come back to the shore.
Drishti lifeguards Umesh Gaude, Girish Komarpart, Omkar Gadekar and Krishna Naik rescued the couple with the help of rescue tube.
In the second incident reported at Colva beach on August 19, Kalim Khan had ventured in the sea against advice of Drishti lifeguards.
However, lifeguards Amir Gadekar and Krishna Naik had warned Khan of the dangers of swimming in the zone. A timely intervention of Gadekar and Naik brought the victim to the shore safely.
