The student’s performance has underlined that Goan students are focusing on technology for a career. The national rankings for the IIT JEE Advanced test were declared on Thursday.
Unlike previous years, this year’s JEE Advanced test turned out a little tricky as the paper format was changed and also included negative marking.
Anand P S topped in Goa and has been ranked 258th across India with a score of 329 out of 504. “Though the paper format was different, Aanad has done exceptionally well,” said Aryaan’s coaching tutor, Venkatesh Prabhudesai.
Following Anand are Rajnala Samyak who scored 286 and Saeel Pai who scored 262, ranking 881st and 1447th ranks respectively across India.
The top 4000 rankers of the JEE Advanced are eligible to apply for an engineering branch in an IIT. Four Goan students have qualified for this. Rankers after the 4000 mark can apply in institutions such as BITS and NIT.
