36 property damage cases reported in Mormugao

VASCO: Several cases of major to minor property damages have surfaced recently after the cyclonic gusty winds, thunder-lightning along with heavy rainfall hit Mormugao Taluka last week.

Thirty six major property damage cases were reported with the Mormugao Mamlatdar, on Thursday.

On May 16, the Mormugao Taluka witnessed strong cyclonic winds along with heavy rainfall which led to uprooting of several huge trees, electricity poles in several places. 

The fire service personnel, Electricity Department employees, municipal workers and defence forces did a commendable job during this time of distress. 

Sources from the Mormugao Mamlatdar office revealed that on May 20, Thursday, there were 36 cases identified by the Mamlatdar office which sustained major damages due to cyclonic weather condition, several houses received damage due to tree falling, uprooting of electricity poles etc.

Further, the sources informed that in most of the areas the electricity supply resumed two days ago but still in some parts of Vasco such as Baina Beach, Sasmollem and Vaddem areas, there is still electricity related issues, which will be attended and solved soon.
