4 granted bail in Nigerian murder case

PANJIM: The North Goa District and Sessions Court on Friday granted conditional bail to five locals, who are among 14 persons charged with murdering Nigerian national Obodo Uzoma Simeon in October 2013. Omkar Palyekar, Rohan Palyekar, Prajot Dabolkar, S Nagvekar and Ashish Gaonkar have all been released on a bail bond of Rs one lakh with local surety of like amount. Two other accused – Pravin alias Pagal Mandrekar, 24, and Prayag Palekar, 19, were released last Saturday. With three more yet to get bail, Mapusa police are still looking for four absconders. A charge sheet against the accused for murdering the Nigerian at Parra on October 31, 2013 was filed in February. While 10 were arrested, four others – Runal Palyekar, Gaurish Govekar, Pranesh Diukar and Sitaram Gaonkar are still absconding.
