MARGAO: Margao Police arrested four persons selling cigarettes without the mandatory warnings and notifications in four raids conducted at different places in Margao including in New Market and Gandhi Market.
A complaint was lodged by Shankar Tamrakar, a 43-year-old resident of Mumbai, who is a member of We Care Foundation, an NGO.
Rohan Borkar from Borim, Piedade Fernandes from Chandor, Abdul Rehman Momin from Davorlim and Sayed Shaikh from Navelim were arrested as the cigarette packets sold by them did not have any pictorial warning. The cigarettes were reportedly manufactured in London.
