MAPUSA: Calangute Police arrested four persons for allegedly stealing mobile phones worth Rs 10 lakh at Sunburn Klassique venue at Vagator.
According to Calangute police, the accused namely Waseem Ahmed (28), Mohd Jamil (29), Aneesh Suleman (50) and Lal Mohammad (40) all natives of Delhi were arrested for stealing 54 mobile phones.
The Calangute Police team led by PI Nolasco Raposo comprised of PSI Viraj Naik, constables Vinay Srivastav, Suresh Naik, Rahul Ramnavar and Vinod Naik.
Calangute police are investigating the case under the supervision of SDPO Porvorim Edwin Colaco and SP North Utkrisht Prasoon.
Meanwhile, Anjuna police arrested four persons at Sunburn Klassique venue and recovered six handsets.
The accused are Aatik Rehman (30) native of Delhi, Zahir Sheikh (24), Imran Sheikh (27) and Sohail Rehman natives of Mumbai. Police informed that all the eight accused arrested by Anjuna and Calangute police could be members of the same gang.
