Complaining of hefty power bills, around 90 locals brought their electricity bills at the meeting.

“Aam Aadmi Party believes that electricity is a basic need, not luxury. Hence, we promise you today that within 48 hours of AAP forming the government, Goans will get free electricity upto 200 units and half bills from 200-400 units,” assured Mhambre.

Mhambre said the BJP does not listen to Goans and only listens to their Delhi masters and likened Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to a puppet.

“There is only one party which runs on the basis of what the people want, that is the Aam Aadmi Party,” he said.

Adv Prasad Shahpurkar pointed out that people of Mandrem were neglected by the traditional political parties and no work was done in their interest.

“It is time that people of Mandrem reject the old parties and elect a government which works in the interest of common man. May it be electricity, water, roads, education or health,” said Shahpurkar.

Colvalkar said, “Mandrem faces lot of power cuts and fluctuations. People have to go without electricity for hours which affects their business. But at the same time, people receive huge bills.”

The locals were formally inducted in the party .
