CURCHOREM: Over 40 persons stopped a mining official and staff members from entering a mining office at Kalay, Sanguem, on Saturday.
According to Sanguem police, they received a complaint from Sanjay Kumar, Mines Manager of N S Narvekar Mines, Kalay, claiming that over 40 persons, including Arun Ramdas Naik (30), a resident of Ambeudak, Santona-Sanguem, and worker of Machado and Sons, Agents and Stevedores Pvt Ltd, formed an unlawful assembly and wrongfully restrained the complainant and other staff members in front of the office in Kalay at 8 am.
Sanguem police have registered offences against the accused under Sections 143 and 341 read with Section 149 of IPC. The case is under investigation.
