Commuters on the Margao-Panjim route now have the option of travelling in brand new KTC buses, having FM facility and hydraulic doors.
The Kadamba Transport Corporation has deployed five brand new buses on the Margao-Panjim route to cater to the growing needs of the travelling commuters on the busy route.
And, if KTC Managing Director Venancio Furtado is to be believed, the KTC has placed orders for 15 more buses to service other busy routes in the state.
Giving details of the features of the new blue-coloured buses, Furtado said each of the buses have cost the KTC Rs 22 lakh.
“The buses have a seating capacity for 42 passengers. They have low floor, making the buses senior citizen friendly,” he added.
Unlike other buses, the drivers control the doors since they are hydraulic operated, he said, adding that the wide gaps in the middle offers enough room for passengers to travel standing.
“These buses will become a hit with the travelling public and will help to clear the rush on the busy Margao-Panjim route”, the KTC Managing Director said.
