PONDA: 5- year-old Svanik Sanjay Kanekar, who resides in the Upper Bazaar Ponda market area, marked his entry into the India Book of Records as the ‘Youngest Human Calendar.’
He was awarded a certificate by the Chief Editor of the India Book of Records Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury on April 3 and his next target is the He was awarded certificate by Chief Editor of India Book of Records Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury on 3 April. His next target is Guinness Book of World Records. On Friday, he was felicitated by Ponda MLA Ravi Naik at the MLA’s office. His parents were also present on the occasion.
Kanekar can instantly tell you the day of the week when asked any random date in the year of 2017, 2018 and 2019. On hearing about his achievement, a lot of locals started asking him to give the day of random dates and he replied immediate with correct answers. Even the MLA joined in and asked what the day of September 18, 2018 was and Kanekar said Tuesday. The MLA congrulated the boy for his talent and said it is a miracle and predicted that he would become a great person in the future. A lot of Ponda locals were seen taking selfies with Kanekar.
The first standard student said he gets his answers from god ‘Krishna’.
His father, advocate Sanjay and mother, Dr Sonia, said that they discovered his talent in February this year, when they were discussing the birth date of one of his family members. Upon further informal tests, they realized the extent of his talent. The proud parents added that they had to Google what this meant and got to know about who ‘human calendars’ are. As per their findings, they felt that their son could be the youngest human calendar in the world. They added that due to costs factor they had not approached Guinness but are planning to do so soon.
