50 Goa Board staff strike work

Protest non-implementation of 7th Pay recommendations

PANJIM: Around 50 employees of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) boycotted work on Tuesday in protest over the non-implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
The striking staffers regretted that the government notification kept aside autonomous bodies and corporations from the benefits of the new pay scale. “We are an autonomous body. As per the CCS rules, all benefits are admissible for employees of the Goa Board. There is an executive council comprising of all powers. We are also eligible for HRA and DA,” Goa Board Employees Association President Jayant Kansar said.
The association has been assured of a meeting on January 4, 2017, when the matter with be discussed with the State. However, Kansar said that if the decision goes against them, the employees will again strike work.
