PANJIM: Congress Monday alleged that RSS workers were masquerading as burkha clad women for Narendra Modi’s rally on Sunday to show the presence of minorities.
“BJP leaders had distributed burkha to its RSS workers who had worn it and were sitting in a group for the rally to project that minority community had also participated in it,” Congress spokesman Manohar Asgaonkar said.
“Muslim community women in Goa don’t wear burkhas. BJP leaders should have at least known this,” he added. He said that BJP had tailored nearly 5000 burkhas for the rally.
Meanwhile, BJP has rubbished the allegations claiming that the statement by Congress stems out from the frustration. “Any opposition political party would have got frustrated looking at the sea of people for the rally,” BJP spokesman Dr Wilfred Mesquita reacted
