PORVORIM: Residents from seven panchayats in Bardez taluka will get their residence or income certificates at the click of a button.
Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza on Monday commissioned the village level service of delivery of certificates at Saligao Panchayat, an initiative of the North Goa collector’s office, in the presence of Tourism Minister and Saligao MLA Dilip Parulekar.
Speaking on the occasion, D’Souza stated that the online service will save precious time and money of the villagers who were forced to go to the office of Mamlatdar Bardez to obtain Residence certificate, Income certificate, Divergence certificate and Caste certificate.
“This new system has been a great success in Bicholim taluka and so far 2,500 online certificates have been issued by the Talathis. Now, it is being extended to Bardez taluka and initially, seven panchayats, Saligao, Pilerne, Reis Magos, Guirim, Aldona, Moira and Soccoro will start the Village Level Service of Delivery of certificates. This facility is free of cost,” added D’Souza.
“Applicants will get all these certificates within 24 hours on submission of necessary documents to their respective Talathis in the panchayat office. Hardware equipment costing Rs 60,000 have been installed at the Talathi’s office and expenditure of about Rs 21.60 lakh will be made for the Bardez taluka towards installation of hardware equipments,” informed D’Souza.
D’Souza further said the Collectorate of North Goa in September 2013 commissioned the Village Level Service of delivery of certificates in Bicholim talula across 18 panchayats.
Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar stated that from now onwards, the residents of the seven panchayats in Bardez taluka will not be required to go the office of Mamlatdar Bardez for residence or income certificates.
“The resident will have to submit his/her application along with relevant documents to Talathi concerned at the panchayat office.”
“The Talathi will complete the necessary procedure and the applicant will receive an SMS after Mamlatdar approves application informing to collect the certificate from the Talathi’s office,” informed Parulekar.
North Goa Collector Mihir Vardhan welcomed the gathering, while Deputy Collector Bardez Sabaji Shetye proposed the vote of thanks.
