PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said Goa has achieved 72 per cent coverage of both doses of the COVID-19 vaccines and hoped that the State will achieve 100 per cent coverage of fully vaccinated beneficiaries by October 31 this year. As per the information given by the Directorate of Health Services, 3,91,033 people have been inoculated with the first dose while, 8.37,947 persons have been fully vaccinated. The total doses administered till Wednesday were 20,66,927.
The Government of India has allocated a total of 22,30,570 vaccine doses to the Goa government. The balance vaccine stock available with the Goa government is 3,17,650.

The Chief Minister said the Swayampurna Mitras deployed in all the village panchayats and municipal councils have also helped in encouraging the people to take COVID-19 vaccines.
