PANJIM: The Crime Branch arrested eight persons for operating matka at Maulingem in Bicholim. The raid conducted on the intervening night of June 1-2, also recorded seizure of Rs 1 lakh from the accused, two of whom are main operators.
“Raju and Kamlakant are the main operators. We raided two dens set up in the sheds at a football ground in Maulingem. The accused were caught red-handed playing matka,” an officer said.
