Advocate Pratima Coutinho alleged that an 88-year-old senior citizen in Ponda was depriving her son, daughter-in-law, and their three children—including an infant—of water facilities. According to Coutinho, the conflict started due to an earlier dispute with the daughter-in-law, which later escalated to the son being denied occupancy of the floor where the family resides. The elderly woman reportedly does not allow the family to use the tap inside the house, forcing them to fetch water from a public tap nearby using containers. Coutinho said the family has now approached the Ponda Police Station, and further investigation is underway. Authorities are looking into the matter to resolve the dispute and ensure proper access to water for the family.
