PANJIM: A 52-year-old man from West Bengal was amongst the nine COVID-19 patients with co-morbid conditions, who succumbed to the virus on Monday. With this, Goa’s COVID-19 death tally touched 192.
The day also saw 414 people getting infected, while 391 positive patients were declared negative and cured.

Goa has reported a total of 17,418 confirmed coronavirus cases, of which 3,649 are active cases, 13,577 patients have recovered and 192 have died.
Of the nine deceased, seven were admitted in Goa Medical College and Hospital, one in South Goa District Hospital and one unknown patient died in ESI-Margao hospital.
As per the information provided by the GMC Dean Dr Shivanand Bandekar, there are 112 critically-ill patients in the COVID wards of 145, 146, 147 and 138 of GMC. On Monday, 123 suspects were admitted in hospital isolation.
As per the bulletin issued by Directorate of Health Services (DHS), a 65-year-old man from Pajifond-Margao was brought dead on Monday to the South Goa district hospital and later tested positive.
The other deceased include a 69-year-old man and a 71-year-old man from St Inez-Panjim, an 85-year-old man from Ribandar, a 53-year-old man from Ponda, a 52-year-old man from West Bengal, a 51-year-old from Merces and 68-year-old woman from Sanvordem. One unidentified male person, admitted in ESI, was declared dead with co-morbid conditions.
Of the 2252 samples tested for COVID-19, 414 were declared positive while 1582 were negative. The test results of 256 samples are awaited.
Panjim saw the biggest surge in COVID cases with 31 people testing positive for the day.
