PANJIM: The Aam Admi Party (AAP) has decided to field Shekhar Naik and Yogesh Khandeparkar for the by-polls in Mapusa and Shiroda respectively. The candidates were announced at a press conference held in the capital on Wednesday, a day before the nominations for the Lok Sabha (LS) seats and by-polls scheduled from March 28 to April 4.
While Naik is a social worker, Khandeparkar is a Maths teacher with 32 years of experience in this field. “We have chosen both the candidates based on inputs received from the volunteers in the respective constituencies,” AAP General Secretary and North Goa Lok Sabha candidate Pradeep Padgaonkar said.
The party also slammed the BJP owing to a series of political events stating it has proved that the BJP has no friends but only selfish business interest that has destroyed the interest of the Goan people particularly the future generations.
AAP Convener Elvis Gomes accused the “BJP of being a party that keeps daggers at all times that are used to stab ‘friends’ at any moment.”
