PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party on Friday held a massive bike rally ahead of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s public meeting next week. The bike rally which had over 500 volunteers participating was led by actress turned politician Gul Panag.
Kejriwal is scheduled to address a public meeting in Panjim on May 22, his first rally in the State since forming the party. “Now Goa has an option. Earlier at the time of elections there was a complaint from the voters that there is no other option,” Panag said.
AAP Goa convener Valmiki Naik said the rally was organised to create awareness about Kejriwal’s public meeting. He added that the rally is dedicated to all ‘ramponnkars’ (traditional fishermen) who were brutally lathi charged on Thursday evening.
“The CM making a statement that the police were clearing the crowd was hilarious. The BJP government in Goa is completely disconnected from reality,” Naik said.
Over 200 bikers started from Bambolim and wound their way through St Cruz and Taleigao village to Campal grounds.
AAP has already announced that it will contest all 40 seats in the 2017 Assembly elections. The party has begun galvanizing support in all constituencies by holding corner meetings.
