MARGAO: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers led by Goa Convenor Elvis Gomes, on Tuesday held a demonstration agitating against the pathetic condition of the roads in Curchorem, that were recently asphalted.
Volunteers shouted slogans condemning corruption in the PWD, which they said was the root cause of shoddy work in the State.
Elvis said it was quite shocking that the road from the Ambedkar circle to Curchorem Town had deteriorated so badly in such a short span of time and recalled that some time ago the BJP had agitated over the same road and MLA Nilesh Cabral had taken great pride in claiming that it was resurfaced in Singapore-style when the road was repaired.
AAP has demanded that the roads be immediately repaired and an enquiry be instituted to check the nexus between the engineers and the contractor.
