AAP insists: Sudin’s BSc certificate is fake

Asks how could one become a graduate within three years of completing 10th

PANJIM: A day after PWD Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar circulated copies of his BSc (subsidiary) degree, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) again lashed out at the minister claiming the years didn’t add up. They also maintain their stand on claiming the degree to be a fake saying they would be filing complaints with the police and Election Commission on Monday.
In a sworn affidavit, the minister listed as having completed his SSCE at A J de Almeida High School, Ponda in 1974-75 and then a BSc degree from Smt Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao, Bombay University in 1979-80. The degree being circulated is dated 1978.
The party questioned how a person could complete a professional degree after having completed his 10th standard within three years and also after the minister claimed to have failed one year.
AAP secretary Valmiki Naik said, “Can you explain to the people of Goa how exactly you managed to complete BSc in just three years after your SSCE? Do you plan to now release an SSCE certificate that also conflicts with your sworn affidavit?”
He also said the degree that has been circulating among the media and that was published in several papers had no stamp or signature from the issuing university, in this case the University of Bombay.
Naik also pointed to the chief minister’s remarks saying it was not important to have high educational qualifications. “It is okay if his ministers don’t have the qualification, but the peon for a government department, he is refused employment,” said Naik.
He maintained that the certificate being circulated was a fake adding that he would make public the proof and evidence his team of researchers have uncovered. “We’ve had a group of over 100 volunteers working on uncovering such incidents involving ministers and we will reveal all the documents against the minister’s claim of being a BSc graduate from the University of Bombay,” he said.
Years don’t add up
According to Sudin’s affidavit he completed his SSCE at A J de Almeida High School in 1974-75
Then BSc degree from Smt Parvatibai Chowgule College in 1979-80
But the degree certificate circulated by Sudin is dated 1978
This means the minister skipped 11th and 12th to enter BSc?
MGP rubbishes AAP’s claim
MGP has rubbished AAP’s claim against PWD Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar of producing a fake BSc degree certificate calling it an attempt to malign his image. “Sudin is taking the party forward but there are attempts from the opposition to discourage him by maligning his image,” MGP working President Narendra Sawant said on Saturday. The party’s central committee has condemned AAP’s move against the minister. “He was earlier targeted on the caste issue and now education certification. We condemn the AAP’s action,” he said.
