AAP launches programme to draft people’s manifesto

MARGAO: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will hold village meetings across the 40 constituencies of the State to draft the people’s manifesto called ‘Goem Samvad’ (Goa Dialogue)

The two-month long programme that would discuss issues plaguing the State and various constituencies was kick started with a meeting at Nuvem.
People gathered not only shared their opinion on various issues plaguing the State but also listed a number of problems afflicting the villagers of Nuvem, including host of environmental issues.
Nuvem constituency coordinator Ernesto Morais informed that another meeting was held at Utorda which saw the participation of over 100 villagers. 
Such meetings are planned at Verna, Nagoa, Loutolim, Majorda and Betalbatim in the next two weeks, he said.
AAP volunteers distributed feedback forms to the people and also gave a patient hearing to the villagers’ grievances and documented the same to be incorporated in the draft manifesto which will be released after the exercise.
Major issues discussed were pollution of River Sal, adverse effects of six lane highway, mega projects, poor infrastructure like electricity, water and roads. Issues of garbage, lack of healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and recreational facilities and sports facilities were also highlighted.
Problems faced by the farmers, SC, ST and OBC communities were also discussed threadbare.
AAP plans to hold five more ‘Goa Dialogue’ meetings in Nuvem constituency, at various places within the next few weeks.
