MARGAO: Members of the Aam Admi Party on Saturday took to the streets of Margao, vowing to fight against corruption and expressing solidarity with its leader Arvind Kejriwal.
Pop star Remo Fernandes, who addressed party members, said those who are selling their motherland have no right to rule the people. “They are selling the mountains of India and they are selling the rice fields and the beaches of Goa, which belong to the people.
After we elect them, they sell our land and our motherland. They have no honour and honesty,” he said, adding that selling motherland is like selling mothers and sisters.
The party took out a rally around the Margao Municipal garden shouting slogans against corruption.
Party leader Rajendra Kakodkar and Rajeshreee Nagarsekar told the media that the rally held Saturday is part of the all India programme chalked out by the Aam Admi party and that the protests are to raise awareness.
The protests and rallies will continue till February 23.
