CUNCOLIM: Aam Admi Party (AAP) will exhibit its show of strength on Monday at Cuncolim. National Convenor of AAP and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will address a rally at Cuncolim in presence of Goa convenor, candidates from South Goa and local leaders. Rally will be held near the Cuncolim football ground.
Cuncolim candidate Elvis Gomes informed Herald that the party would unveil the blueprint for changing politics and governance in Goa, at the rally.
Gomes said that party is gaining the overwhelming response from the voters.
Cuncolim has played a major role in Goa Liberation movement and Cuncolkars have always been at forefront in all revolutions including Goa Liberation and also in keeping Goa’s separate identity during the merger issue, he said adding, therefore, the party has chosen Goa Liberation Day to start the cleaning of corruption and to liberate Goans from the corrupt politicians.
“We have selected Cuncolim since it is historically an important place. AAP is expecting massive crowd in this rally,” he said. The rally is scheduled to be held at 3.30 pm.
Recently, former Cuncolim MLA Joacquim Alemao and BJP had held their public meeting at the same place. Both the BJP and Alemao had succeeded in getting huge crowd for their public meetings.
Therefore, it will be a challenge for AAP and Elvis Gomes to beat previous records of crowd.
It is learnt that Kejriwal will arrive in Goa on Monday morning and will hold meetings with AAP leaders and other key persons before and after the rally. Kejriwal will leave for Delhi on the same day.
