Ponda: As the fight among PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar and Art andCulture Minister Govind Gaude became public against cabinet norms, it has become a topic of much discussion. The abusive language used by Govind over the pace of developmental work forced the MGP working Committee PresidentNarayan Sawant to demand he be sacked from the cabinet. He gave a four day ultimatum.
Sudin’s supporters felt Govind committed a wrong act by abusing whileGovind supporters says no one really knows as to what really happened during the cabinet meeting and so it would be wrong to blame Govind based on media report that published a one-sided report without presenting the side of Govind on first day of news published on it. There is an ongoing debate among the public whether Govind would lose his Ministerial Post and whether CM will sackGovind or not over the ultimatum by MGP.
The consensus from the public debate is that CM would not sack Govind as it would not be affordable for the BJP led Government which is struggling for a majority in assembly.According to many the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar led BJP isstruggling to retain their government and will not lose Govind bysacking him from Cabinet.
If sacked BJP will definitely in trouble inforthcoming Lok sabha Election as Govind Gaude has large supporters inPriol and their communities in Goa. BJP would not hurt this communityat the time of LS election and so chances are less that CM would sackGovind Gaude from Cabinet.
Not only MGP supporters are furious over alleged news of abuse theyare also now protesting against Govind. MGP Local leader at PondaKetan Bhatikar said Govind Gaude should apologise for the abuse. If hesays sorry the issue would be resolved.
He is claiming as a Bahujan leaderthen he should follow ideal of Ravi Naik who never involved in verbalabuse with political rivals.But on other the hand the Art and Culture Minister is also been furious overMGP supporters and challenged them to bring a morcha saying he does not care for their demand and action.
He denied abusing Sudin Dhavlikar. According to him fight occurred as the PWD Minister was interfering in his constituency, halting his works and also initiating development work with signing priority letter without taking Govind Gaude into confidence.
This irked Govind as Sudin wastrying to take credit for the development works by side-lining theworks planned by Govind Gaude in his constituency. However PWDMinister Sudin Dhavlikar has not spoken on the issue between them buthas said that Govind Gaude should stop unparliamentary language andfollow Contitution.There is also speculation that BJP will pressurise MGP PresidentDeepak Dhavlikar for not contesting Shiroda Constituency election asBJP is focussing on winning it by fielding Subash Shirodkar who recentlyresigned and joined the Congress.
If Deepak is asked to withdraw fromShiroda at last moment under pressure of BJP , he would have no optionthen to focus on Priol Constituency, hence many feel the tusslebetween Govind and Sudin might be over Priol constituency issue.
MGP istrying to focuss on Priol constituency to win it again from where MGPDeepak Dhavlikar was elected twice. Hence the rivalry might be MGP eyeon Priol constituency.
