VASCO: The two accused, who were arrested in connection with gang clashes at Mangor Hill Vasco, were on Monday produced in the JMFC Vasco for further remand to police custody.
Vasco police informed that the accused, Manju Madar and Durgesh Madar, allegedly stabbed Maulik Habib Sheik and Abdul Rehman with a knife at Mangor Hill late Sunday evening.
The police have sought seven days police custody of the duo for further investigation of the case.
When asked about the other accused arrested by Vasco police, the police said the other seven accused persons are arrested under Section 151, while others involved in the stabbing are still at large.
Police further informed that PSI John Fernandes is investigating the case under the supervision of Vasco Police Inspector Sagar Ekoskar.
It may be recalled that Durgesh Madar allegedly stabbed Sheik and Rehman at Mangore Hill Vasco, which led to group clashes. The incident forced the entire business activities at Mangor to pull down their shutters to avoid any loss to their business.
It was almost after three years such an incident has occurred in Mangor near the Ambabai Temple. The last incident had taken place in 2011, where two groups clashed with each other.
