PANJIM: RTI activist Rajan Ghate on Thursday demanded immediate action against a head clerk working in the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department alleging that he had attained the age of superannuation and was still working by producing forged birth certificate.
Speaking to mediapersons, Ghate has served 15 days ultimatum to the TCP department to terminate the services of head clerk failing which he along with like-minded people will stage a dharna in front of the TCP office at Patto, Panjim.
Ghate claimed that the said head clerk had retired last year and was continuing in service by submitting false and fabricated birth certificate. He said that the government should terminate the head clerk and recover the salary paid to him for the last one year after and to withhold his pension.
By allowing the head clerk to continue in service, it has resulted in loss to the government treasury and also blocked the promotion of eligible staff.
