PONDA: After strong protest by villagers, a company that had terminated the bus service contract of a Marcaim local has agreed to reinstate the contract.
On January 31, the Marcaim villagers under the banner of “Marcaim Nagrik Kruthi Sangh” had protested against the company for terminating bus service contract of a local and granting the same to another person.
The protestors had denounced the company for its “injustice” to Marcaim villagers saying that they had sacrificed land and water resources for industries at Marcaim Industrial Estate so that locals would get jobs.
Following the protest, the company management held a discussion with the villagers wherein the officials had promised to discuss the issue with their higher authorities.
Consequently, the company later invited a delegation of the villagers for a meeting with its officials at its premises. At the meeting, the company officials agreed to reinstate the bus services of Marcaim local Ajit Naik who was transporting the employees of the company.
Marcaim villagers have welcomed the decision of the company to reinstate the contract of Ajit Naik. It is learnt that Ajit Naik would now begin his services to Company from March 1.
