MARGAO: After all the rivalry, it was admirable to see a lighter day, when the candidates, PAs and election agents came together and laughed and joked while they overlooked the Election Commission led by Collector Swapnil Naik and the Poll Observor.
In a rare moment Digambar’s PA and Election agent Vishal Kakode, AAP candidate’s election agent Shriram Raiturkar and BJP’s Changdan Naik, election agent of Sharmad Raiturkar were arm-in -arm and chatting as they waited for the EC officials.
The occasion was the opening of the strong room seals where all the VVATs and EVMs are kept. The room had to be opened to place the EVM and VVAT of the Aquem re-polled booth. Hence for authencity reasons all the candidates or their representatives were called.
The only candidates to turn up were NCP candidate Jose Philip D’Souza from Vasco and Congress Fatorda candidate Joseph D’Silva, for everybody else was represented by their election agents.
