AG to be paid Rs 67,500 per SC appearance

PANJIM: Advocate General Dattaprasad Lawande will be paid Rs 67,500 per appearance in the Supreme Court and Tribunals when he represents the State government. 
The State cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday accorded its approval to the proposal to fix the professional fees payable to the Advocate General (AG). 
As per the proposal, AG would be paid Rs 67,500 as appearance  fee per day before Supreme Court, Tribunals or any other body outside Goa in special leave petition, writ petition, civil application, etc. 
At the same time, the AG is entitled to a professional fee of Rs 6000 per day before the High Court in respect of all cases and for cases listed for court matters, he would be paid Rs 2250. 
Other fees payable include Rs 4400 for consultation, Rs 5000 retainership per month apart from Rs 16,000 house rent.
The proposal has been approved by the Finance Department. Lawande was appointed as AG on March 18, 2017, after the new government took office.
