The incident came to light after the mother of the girl complained to Mapusa Police stating that her daughter had been sexually abused.
In this case too, the accused, who is now in Mapusa Police custody, is a relative of the girl. According to the mother of the girl the incident occurred on November 23.
Police said that the accused had been arrested and would be produced in court on Saturday to seek his remand.
The man was arrested under Sections 342, 376 of IPC, Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act and Section 4, 8, 11 & 12 of POSCO (Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012).
