Dabolim airport police disclosed that the passenger was intercepted by the CISF staff at security check in counter at Dabolim Airport.
As per police, the passenger namely Gurudatta Jayant Kulakarni, (32), a resident of Pune and working as sales executive in one of the software companies in Pune had valid ticket of Spices Jet flight to Pune. While screening his hand baggage, the CISF staff found suspicious material in his hand baggage at around 1.20 pm. After verifying the facts, the security agencies found that that the passenger was carrying .88 mm live pistol bullet but was unable to give satisfactory reply for carrying live bullet in his baggage.
He was immediately handed over Dabolim airport police who in turn booked an offence, under Section 3 read with 25 of Arms Act and arrested the accused.
Investigation by Dabolim airport police has revealed that the passenger failed to produce any valid documentation for the live bullet and hence has been arrested. Further investigation is in progress.
