PANJIM: Advocate Aires Rodrigues has applied for anticipatory bail which would come up for hearing on Monday, even as he requested Crime Branch (CB) to reschedule his questioning in a three-year old complaint on his nationality.
Rodrigues was summoned on Friday at 11 am at the Crime Branch office, Ribandar.
The case pertains to a complaint filed by Calvert Gonsalves claiming the Rodrigues is a Portuguese national. He had supported his complaint with documentary evidence, which refutes advocates claim that he is an Indian citizen.
Rodrigues this morning submitted a letter to CB stating that being a practicing lawyer, he had prior legal commitments. Hence, he has requested CB to reschedule the questioning to any other time convenient on December 11 afternoon or December 12.
