Panjim: The State government is planning a Central Secretariat to bring all central government offices under one roof and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has already issued directions for identifying a land for the same.
The CM held an interaction with all the Heads of Departments (HoDs) of Central Government offices situated in Goa, at Secretariat, Porvorim.
In all, 27 Heads of Central Government Departments participated in the interaction session.
While interacting with them, the CM pointed out that if the Central Secretariat comes up, then all the Central government offices can function from one central place in Goa,” he said.
He directed the Superintendent Engineer and Principal Director to identify any suitable location in and around Mapusa, so that the rent costs of Central Government offices can be reduced drastically.
All the HoDs shared their difficulties as regard to the non- availability of premises to setup additional offices; NOCs for installation of mobile towers; non-submission of compliance to Audit report; setting up of Special Court for CBI at Panjim; non-availability of land for Housing etc.
In this context, the CM gave an assurance that all the problems discussed, will be resolved soon.
While highlighting the importance of interaction, the CM explained that in order for one to know more about the existence and functioning of Central Government offices in Goa, there is a need to organise awareness programmes.
The Chief Minister further informed that the State Government is providing manpower from Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) with Housekeeping and Security personnel. On this note, he appealed to these HoDs of Central Government Offices to avail the services of GHRDC for required manpower for their office which will contribute to the State of Goa.
The CM also appealed to the HoDs to extend their co-operation to the Goa Government to achieve sustainability and make Goa self-sufficient in all respects under the Atmanirbhar Bharat – Swayampurna Goa programme.
