MARGAO: Decks have been cleared for the demotion of the 30 structures atop Talsanzor hillock with the District Collector rejecting the applications for regularisation of the encroachments on Comunidade land.
In his order, Collector N D Agrawal said that Camilo Barretto and others had filed applications for regularisation of encroachments on February 1 on the land belonging to the Comunidade of Margao.
The Margao Comunidade, however, on June 2, 2013, at its extraordinary meting resolved to reject the application made under Article 372-A of the Comunidade Code. The Comunidade resolution later found favour with the government when it got its stamp of approval on August 27.
