The union claimed that such illegal operations are severely impacting the livelihood of genuine batch holder drivers who depend solely on the profession for their income.

AGDU has urged the Transport Department to conduct regular inspection and verification drives, impose stringent penalties on violators, issue clear public notices reiterating mandatory batch requirements, and ensure close coordination with the Traffic Police for effective enforcement.

The union said timely action is essential to safeguard the rights of law-abiding drivers and maintain discipline within the transport sector.
