Ambelim body: Identity not known

MARGAO: Cuncolim police is groping in the dark over the identity of the male person whose decomposed body was found dumped in river Sal at Sokobandh, Ambelim, on Sunday.

MARGAO: Cuncolim police is groping in the dark over the identity of the male person whose decomposed body was found dumped in river Sal at Sokobandh, Ambelim, on Sunday.
The body was found with a rubble stone tied on his abdomen with a nylon rope. The rope was also used to tie his hands and neck.
When contacted, Margao DySP Mohan Naik stated that police efforts were on to identify the deceased. He said the post-mortem examination has revealed that the deceased had died due to drowning.
The deceased was found wearing a green colour T-shirt and a jean pant. Nothing was found in his clothes. Cuncolim PI RV Raut Dessai is the investigating officer.
The police had booked an offence against unknown accused on charges of murder under Section 302 and for trying to destroy evidence under Section 201 of the IPC.
