Officials said the primary objective of the project is to ensure the safety and well-being of stray dogs in the Sankhali area while also helping to control diseases such as rabies through timely medical intervention and proper care.

The shelter will also provide a safe and secure environment for stray animals, with dedicated facilities for their treatment and rehabilitation. Residents of the Sankhali region are expected to benefit significantly from the initiative, as it aims to address issues related to injured and abandoned stray dogs in the locality.

Sharing details about the initiative, Priya Agarwal said that although the project has initially been launched in the Sankhali region, the Foundation plans to expand the initiative across the state of Goa in the future.
